ConferenceBeat Scanner (CBS) - QR Settings

This article explains the settings available for QR codes as it relates to scanning in the CBS app.

In the admin portal go to CB Scanner > Advanced Settings

You will see 2 advanced setting options:

1. URL based QR codes:
   
1. No, use classic QR codes - this setting uses a traditional QR code that can be scanned by any camera (outside of the CBS app). The QR code may lead to an internet search on the user.
   
2. Yes, prefix the QR codes with an informational URL - this setting will take the scanner to an information page about downloading the CBS app for scanning leads when the QR code is scanned with a device outside of the CBS app. This is the default setting.
   
2. Show the "My Badge" QR code int he app - this setting allows an attendee to access their QR code in the app. This can be helpful if they forget a badge or if changes are made to their schedule after they have printed their badge.
   

Note: the QR code in the app will have the most up to date information. The QR code on a badge will include the information (session favorites) selected at the time the badge was printed.

1. No, do not show - this will turn off the QR code (my badge) under the user profile in the app
   
2. Yes, show - this will show the QR code (my badge) in the user profile, see image below. This is the default setting
   

This can be found in the app by clicking on the "Profile" icon > My badge tab.
