Static Content

Static content is a unique screen within your app that can be customized using a WYSIWYG editor. Add text, images, links, and more to make the static content all your own.  Common static content pages include shuttle schedules, places to visit around the town, information about the organization, venue Wi-Fi, and promotional offers. Feel free to be unique with your static content as the options are truly endless.

To get started, click the tab labeled Static Content within your admin portal navigation.

1. Action icons to do the following with existing content: edit, make active/ inactive, copy (add duplicate) and remove.

2. Add new static content

Adding Static Content

Once you are on the Static Content screen, click the following tab labeled Add Content. You will be taken to a new screen where you can provide a title and all the details your content needs. See an example of the Add Content screen below with further details.

  1. Title: enter the title of your static content. This will appear at the top of the static content screen to visitors in the app.
  2. Body: use the WYSIWYG editor to add your static content. You can add text, styles, links, images, and more. Hover over each icon for details about each action.
  3. Active: leave the static content set to “Yes, Active” if you want app users to see it. Check “No, Inactive” if the static content is not ready and you want to hide it from users.
  4. Visibility: decide if you want your static content to appear to everyone (all app users) or only users who have signed into the app.
  5. Include Text Style: leave the text style checked to “Yes, Include Styles” to allow the system to implement mobile device readability styles. Your content will not change, just the appearance. This is the recommended setting. If you prefer the system not format the static content to mobile devices, select “No, Add No Styles”.

Once you have added your static content, click the button labeled Add to save your changes. Also, please remember, you MUST add the static content to your app’s navigation for it to appear. Creating the static content only makes it viewable to users but does not link it to your app’s navigation.

Adding Static Content to your Navigation

In order to see your static content in the app, it must be linked to a navigation icon. Follow the steps below:

  1. In the admin portal click the Navigation link.
  2. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click the Add Navigation Item button.
  3. Under "Menu Item Type," select "Static Content."
  4. Under "Please Select," choose the desired static content.
  5. Please click "save" and your menu item will appear on the front-end.

Specify Teams to View Static Content

You can also assign specific static content to a team which means no one outside of the specified team can view this content.  To restrict your static content to teams, in the admin portal go to the static content page you want only a certain team to see and click the edit icon.  The following image details the steps to specify which teams can see your content:

  1. Click the Eligibility tab in the portal.
  2. Visibility: Select Restrict by Team.
  3. Permit Members of these Teams:  Select the teams who can see the static content.
  4. Exclude Members of these Teams:  Select the teams who you do not want to see the static content.  Keep in mind this takes priority over Permit Members of these Teams.  So if a user is on the team that excludes and a team that permits, they will not see the static content.
  5. Click the Update button to save.
