Simple Ratings for Sessions, Speakers, and Exhibitors/Sponsors

In addition to event and session evaluations, you can now use the simple ratings feature in the app to rate your sessions, speakers, exhibitor/sponsor representatives, and exhibitors/sponsors.  Using the settings in the portal, you can let your users rate these items with the simple rating of your choice:  Thumbs up/thumbs down, heart, smiley face/frowny face, or the 5 star rating (Figures 1-4).

Enabling Ratings for your Event

To enable ratings for your event, go to your event in the portal, then as shown in Figure 5

  1. Select Ratings -> Settings.
  2. From the drop down menu for Ratings for Session select the type of rating you would like to use to rate your sessions.
  3. Select whether you want to show the average/sum of ratings for Sessions to the app users.
  4. Complete steps 1 – 3 for Speakers, Exhibitors and Sponsors, and Exhibitor and Sponsors Reps.
  5. Click on Update Settings to save your changes.

Viewing Your Results

To view the results of your ratings, go to your event in the portal, then as shown in Figure 6, select Ratings -> Results.

The first set of results is shown for the sessions that were rated in Figure 7.  The rating used in this example was Thumbs Up/Thumbs Down. 

  1. A thumbs up equals a +1 and a thumbs down equals a -1. 
  2. Three people rated this session so the score is 1 based on adding the values of the results together.
  3. Click on the magnifying glass to see the details of the ratings.

Figure 8 shows the individual results for the session ratings.  Three people rated this session.  The rating score shown in Figure 7 is the sum of the individual results:  Rating Score = 1+ (-1) +1 = 1.

The second set of results is shown for the speakers that were rated in Figure 9.  The rating used in this example was a Heart. 

  1. A heart equals a +1 and no heart equals 0. 
  2. One person rated this speaker so the score is 1 based on adding the values of the results together.
  3. Click on the magnifying glass to see the details of the ratings.

The third set of results is shown for the exhibitors and sponsors that were rated in Figure 10.  The rating used in this example was the 5 Star Rating. 

  1. The score giving for the 5 Star Rating is the number of stars selected for each exhibitor/sponsor.   
  2. The overall score is the average of all the scores submitted.  In this case two people rated this exhibitor and the average was 4.5 stars.
  3. Click on the magnifying glass to see the details of the ratings.

The fourth set of results is shown for the exhibitor/sponsor representatives that were rated in Figure 11.  The rating used in this example was Smiley Face/Frowny Face. 

  1. A smiley face equals a +1 and a frowny face equals a -1. 
  2. The score of the results is similar to the thumbs up/thumbs down where the scores are added together.
  3. Click on the magnifying glass to see the details of the ratings.

Viewing the Participants Who Completed the Ratings

To view the participants of your ratings, go to your event in the portal, then as shown in Figure 12

  1. Select Ratings -> Participants.
  2. Each column shows the number of sessions, speakers, exhibitors/sponsors, and exhibitor/sponsor representatives the participant rated.
  3. Click on the magnifying glass to see the detail of which sessions, speakers, exhibitors/sponsors, exhibitor/sponsor representatives each participant rated.

Exporting Your Ratings results

To export your ratings results select Ratings -> Export All to download a CSV file.
